Why compress Meesho listing photos?
Large camera or WhatsApp-forwarded files can be several megabytes. They take longer to upload in Supplier Panel and are harder to manage when you list dozens of SKUs.
Compression makes a smaller JPEG. Done well, buyers still see sharp products. Done poorly, fabric looks muddy and logos smear.
Quality vs file size for Meesho
For Meesho catalog use, JPEG quality around 80–90% is a strong starting range. ImageReady’s Quick Optimize uses adaptive quality: it prefers sharper settings and only steps down when the file needs to stay practical.
Files under about 100 KB can still look fine for simple products. Aim for clear detail first — not the smallest file at any cost.
- Start near 90% JPEG quality
- Step down toward 80% only if needed
- Prefer a clean 1080×1440 frame before heavy compression
- Never “smash” quality so low that edges buzz
Compress the right way
Resize and frame first, then compress. Compressing a huge 4000px phone photo and then shrinking it later wastes quality. Get the Meesho canvas right, then save JPEG.
- Crop and center the product
- Export at 1080×1440 (3:4)
- Save as JPEG with adaptive quality
- Upload the compressed file in Supplier Panel
Free browser compression with ImageReady
ImageReady.in compresses in your browser. Your product photo is not uploaded to an ImageReady server for processing — handy when you want speed and privacy.
Open the optimizer, generate Meesho versions, and download the JPEG. Compare a few versions if one looks softer than another.
Signs you over-compressed
Watch for these red flags before you publish:
- Blocky patches on solid colors
- Blurry embroidery or print details
- Halos around the product edge
- Colors that look flat or dirty
